We are excited to offer a drive-thru flu clinic for our patients and their caregivers this year! The drive-thru will be held starting September 14 and ending September 30th. We have limited appointments still available. Give us a call to schedule today!
Before the Visit
Please talk to your child about what to expect when they come to the drive-thru clinic. This is a new environment for children to be receiving vaccines, which could be confusing for them. If your child is not prepared, we may ask you to reschedule your visit to our in-office flu clinic.
The safety of your family and our staff is our #1 priority. If you or your child have any known egg allergies, sensitivities or have had reactions to the flu vaccine in the past, we will need to assist your family at our in-office flu clinic.
The drive-thru flu clinic will be held in the parking lot of 9340 SW Barnes Road.
The entrance of the parking lot will be marked with a large flag that looks like the one in the photo on the right.
Plan to arrive at your appointment time to help us keep the flow of traffic moving.
You will enter the parking lot, proceed straight towards the back of the lot where a member of our staff will greet you, provide some paperwork and direct you where to go. Please drive slowly and cautiously as our staff will be on foot.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing; nothing with tight-fitting arms or long sleeves. Children under 9 years old should wear loose shorts.

What to Expect
Check-in
One of our friendly staff members will greet you in the parking lot and direct you where to go once you arrive!
Please bring with you:
- Masks for everyone in the vehicle
- Insurance cards for parents/caregivers
- Updated insurance cards for patients if their insurance has changed
While you are preparing to receive the flu shot, we will ask you to complete a demographic form, as well as sign a waiver which allows us to administer the vaccine.
Flu Shot
- You will remain in the car and pull up to a designated spot.
- You will be asked to place your car in park and turn off the engine.
- A member of our medical staff will have the flu vaccines prepared and approach your car.
- Please roll down the window next to each person receiving a flu shot and the medical staff will administer the vaccine.
- If you drive a large car, or have passengers who are not near a window, we may ask you to exit the vehicle to administer the flu vaccine.
Afterwards
If the driver of the vehicle is receiving the flu shot, you will be asked to park and wait for 15 minutes prior to leaving the site. Should you choose to leave before the 15 minutes have passed, Sunset cannot be held liable for any adverse reactions or injuries.
After the Visit
For both patients and parents/caregivers receiving the flu vaccine who have active insurance, we will courtesy bill your plan as normal. If you are on an insurance plan that is different than your child’s policy, please check with your plan to confirm we are in network.
If you do not have insurance, the cost of the flu vaccine will be charged to the card we have on file the day after your appointment. The estimated cost of the flu vaccine is $139. Please call our office prior to your visit if you need to provide or update your card on file.
We are unable to offer the flu vaccine to parents/caregivers who are on the Oregon Health Plan or any Medicare/Medicaid policy. Please contact your primary care physician to receive the vaccine.
