Good news! Providence and Regence/BCBS will remain in network. Although Sunset remains in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield regardless, we are happy to see these two entities come to an agreement. If you have any questions, we recommend reaching out to BCBS for further information.

You have likely received a letter from your insurance company stating that they are having challenges reaching an agreement in their contract negotiations with Providence. If they are unable to come to an agreement, Providence facilities would become out of network for families with Regence/BCBS coverage starting Jan 15th. 

Sunset Pediatrics would like to remind families that we are NOT a Providence facility. Sunset Pediatrics is an independent, physician owned practice. We happen to be located on the Providence St. Vincent campus, but we are not affiliated with Providence in any way outside of that. 

While we hope these two entities will find a resolution quickly to ensure your family continues to get the best most convenient care, your pediatric care at Sunset will continue uninterrupted either way.

Please make sure your child is up to date on their vaccines by Wednesday, February 15th. February 15th is School Exclusion Day, which means that if your child isn’t up to date with the vaccines their school requires, they may be sent home. If you’re unsure of what vaccines your child may need, please give us a call and we would be happy to set up an appointment.
